Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 26/10/2026
These terms apply when you buy from joethomas.eu. By placing an order you agree to them. They do not affect your legal rights as a consumer.
Who I am
I am Joe Thomas, trading as Joe Thomas, based in Wiltshire, UK. You can contact me through the contact form.
My products
Everything I sell is handmade by me in my workshop in Wiltshire, often from offcuts and reclaimed timber. Each piece is handmade, so the grain, colour and markings will vary from the photographs and from piece to piece. This is part of what makes handmade products special. I do my best to describe and photograph each item accurately, including its size, wood and finish.
Wood is a natural material that can move slightly with changes in temperature and humidity. This is normal and is not a fault. Please follow the care instructions I provide.
Availability
Many of my pieces are one-offs, so there may be only one available. I also sell at markets, so in rare cases an item may sell elsewhere before your order is confirmed. If that happens I will tell you straight away and refund you in full.
Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling. I am not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. Delivery costs are shown at checkout before you pay. Payments are taken securely through Square at checkout.
Your order
When you place an order, I will send you an email to confirm I have received it. The contract between us is made when I confirm that I have accepted your order. If I cannot fulfil an order for any reason, I will tell you and refund you in full.
Delivery
I aim to dispatch orders within 2 working days, and I will tell you if there is a delay. Delivery times and costs are shown at checkout. I deliver within the UK. The goods are my responsibility until they are delivered to you. I package every piece carefully, but if anything arrives damaged, please contact me as soon as possible, with photographs.
Cancelling and returns
Your rights to cancel, return and get a refund are set out on my Returns and Cancellations page.
Faulty or misdescribed goods
By law, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If something I have sold you is faulty or not as described, you have legal rights to a repair, replacement or refund. Please get in touch and I will put it right.
Commissions and made-to-order pieces
If I make a piece to your specification or personalise it for you, I may ask for a deposit of 25% before I begin. Because made-to-order pieces are made specifically for you, the 14-day right to cancel does not apply once I have started work. This does not affect your rights if the piece is faulty or not as agreed.
My liability
Nothing in these terms limits my responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else I cannot legally limit, including your legal rights as a consumer.
Your information
How I use your personal information is explained in my Privacy Policy.
Complaints
If you have a problem, please contact me first through the contact form and I will do my best to sort it out. You can also get free advice from the Citizens Advice consumer service.
General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts. I may update these terms from time to time, and the version in place when you place your order is the one that applies to it.
